Sneak Peak of the NEW Colt M2012

April 13, 2012

Colt, after a long period of ignoring the commercial market and failing to modernize and develop their other product lines, has had a change of heart the last few years releasing more and more products for both the military and civilian markets. Here is a sneak peak of one of those new projects, the Colt M2012. Taking a page out of Remington Military’s handbook, the M2012 definitely has a striking resemblance to Remy’s XM2010 which was adopted by the US military.

Some will snicker at a copy cat product line, but it is still exciting to see an old American company getting back into the game and releasing new products. Hopefully, we will see many of these on the commercial market. $3799 is definitely not cheap, but not out of the realm of possibility for some.

Taurus CT Carbine

April 18, 2011

The Firearm Blog has posted this great picture of the Taurus CT carbine from LAAD ’11 Expo in Brazil. This model looks vastly different from the one I saw at Shot 2011 and will be imported into the US. The model seen at Shot this year had a rather unattractive thumbhole stock and lacked the continuous forearm quad rail. Noticeable on the non imported model is the Scar like stock and AR style pistol grip. The once boring imported rifle suddenly has a more meaningful appearance and might just be worthy of a few more gun safes than before. Let us hope that Taurus will make these accessories available on the consumer market, so those looking for a pistol caliber home defense rifle can have a more useful rifle.

Here is a look at the US version:

SHOT Show 2011 Wrap-up

January 26, 2011

T.A.G. had a great time at SHOT Show 2011 last week. We worked hard trudging through the aisles to see all of the new products that the firearms industry had to offer – and there were hundreds. But we’re definitely not for ALL WORK AND NO PLAY. To prove it, Advanced Armament Corporation allowed us to co-sponsor their Big Bang 2011 Party which took place opening night. Leaders in the industry gathered inside the Voodoo Lounge atop the Rio Hotel just off the Las Vegas Strip. AAC provided great food, drinks, live music and socializing with the coolest minds in the industry. We were very lucky to be part of the fun and to make great new friends. Next year, if you visit SHOT, try to make it to the party. You may even bump into us.

SHOT Show 2011

January 8, 2011

It’s that time of year again, and Shot Show 2011 is almost here. We are very excited to see the many newly announced products that will be seen around the four day industry event held in where else—Las Vegas, Nevada. The T.A.G. Team will be there eyeing and spying all of these goodies, so we can return with many posts and reviews of what we deem are truly the best of show! Some companies such as Kel Tec and Ruger have already announced a few of the new products that will be seen.
